Essential Question: What is the most successful way to encourage young women in abusive
relationships to leave their abuser?

1. Successful - In my essential question, what I mean to be successful is to accomplish a goal throughly and                            

                       completely.

    Encourage - By using encourage I mean to give support and courage to women who are in need of guidance and               

                       help. 

2. Based on my research, possible answers to my EQ would be: To educate battered women on the resources they can use, to inform women on the consequences of staying with their abusive partner, such as death, or counseling battered women to begin helping them deal with their psychological issues from being battered, getting them to see that the relationship is something they need to overcome to obtain a better life. 

3. My most important printed source has been The Domestic Violence Sourcebook because it talks about every aspect of domestic violence in detail. It's not to complicated, yet still has depth and will be a resource that I will go to for any technical questions about domestic abuse. The only setback is that it's a little old, however, I also find my interviews very important because they clarify anything I wasn't too sure about and inform me on the latest information.
