Idea Approval

• What would you like to do/create for your independent component?

I would like to work with the Violence Prevention Center at Cal Poly and either create a workshop to do at I-Poly, help them with one, or help put together one of the many events they do during the year, for example, vagina monologue.  

• Explain how you think this will be a worthwhile use of 30 hours?

I think this will be worthwhile use of 30 hours because this will allow me to be surrounded by people full of knowledge about my topic, making it so I will learn things I would not have if I just did research. By doing this, I will be passing on the knowledge I have learned that will also help me better retain the information. 

• How will this help you to answer your EQ?

This will help me answer my EQ because the people I am working with may have an opinion on my essential question based on experience, opening my eyes to things I might have never considered before. Once I begin working with people, they may tell me stories or some information they know that will help me form my own opinion.
